About Us

C Lazy S Bar Cattle Company was established in 2019 by Asa and Hanna Steiner, a young couple united by a shared vision and deep-rooted passion for ranching. Asa, raised in an agricultural family, always knew he wanted to continue the legacy of working the land. Hanna pursued her passion for livestock and land stewardship at Montana State University, where she studied Animal Science and Farm & Ranch Management with the dream of one day running her own ranch.

The C Lazy S Bar brand holds a special place in their hearts—it was passed down to Asa by his grandfather, Clinton Shelhamer. What began as a dream in a small apartment in Belgrade, Montana, quickly evolved into a way of life. In 2020, the Steiners purchased property in Three Forks and began building the foundation of their future—both literally and figuratively. By February 2021, at just 22 years old, they were living on the ranch full time.

What started with a few chickens and a pair of cows has grown steadily into a thriving operation. Asa and Hanna remain committed to growing their ranch with integrity and purpose, with hopes of one day passing the legacy on to the next generation.
